The TruTorr pressure sensor is a single-use solution for measuring headspace pressure and preventing rupture of a bioprocess container. A TruTorr loop consists of a disposable pressure sensor, a cable, and a transmitter blade that is seamlessly integrated into a Finesse bioreactor controller.

The single-use sensor not only compensates for temperature, but is self-calibrated with SmartChip technology for immediate use. Simply attach the cable to the sensor, set the TruBio® control system alarm levels or interlocks for bag overpressure, and start the process.

The single-use sensor can be pre-inserted in a disposable bioreactor bag port and irradiated with the bag in order to preserve the sterile barrier.

Smart Calibration

SmartChip: All Finesse SmartSensors contain an embedded gamma radiation resistant SmartChip that holds factory calibration data and manufacturing lot and serial numbers, which can be part of the batch record when used with the blade transmitter.

TruTorr™ blades are analog output transmitters with no display or keypad which are mounted in G3 bioreactor controllers. These blades allow automatic entry of calibration data from TruTorr sensors that contain a SmartChip, and provide diagnostic information to the control system. Calibration of the sensor is performed in TruBio® software.
