Zoetis has completed the latest expansion at its Lincoln plant, bringing to an end years of work that has cost tens of millions of dollars.
The company that makes vaccines and drugs for animals said it recently finished a 30,000-square-foot addition onto the east side of its manufacturing plant at 601 W. Cornhusker Highway.
The $60 million addition that took 13 months to complete houses the manufacturing operations for Zoetis' canine atopic dermatitis immunotherapeutic, a monoclonal antibody product that helps reduce clinical signs associated with atopic dermatitis in dogs.
Zoetis received a conditional license to produce the drug from the U.S. Department of Agriculture in August 2015 and expects to receive a full license this year.
This is the second major expansion for the plant in just the past two years.
